Specific chests and modes
GamesRadar, Dot Esports and Beebom describe obtaining the token from chests, but their details do not line up on every chest type and mode.

Not verified
“Open enough chests and it is guaranteed”
We have not verified a pity counter, a guarantee after a fixed number of openings, or a fixed-spawn rule. More attempts do not establish a guarantee.
Status: no confirmed pity system.

“Land here for a guaranteed token”
No guaranteed token location has been verified. A route can help you open more chests in less time without changing the probability of any one chest.
Status: no confirmed guaranteed location.

“Wear this skin or use this creator method”
No evidence has verified that wearing a One Piece skin, using a creator code, or following a named viral method increases Pirate Shop Access odds. A winner wearing a particular cosmetic is an anecdote, not evidence that the cosmetic changed the random roll.
Status: viral method claim with no verified probability boost.

Fortnite Shop Token chance versus chest count
These are different questions: How many chests can I open per minute? is a route efficiency question. What is the chance that one chest contains a token? is a probability question. A route with many chests may produce more attempts, but that alone does not show better odds per chest.
One player's number of attempts is a personal result, not a measured rate for all players.
A compilation of videos can over-represent lucky drops and omit unsuccessful sessions.
Even many openings cannot promise a drop without a confirmed guarantee mechanism.
We do not yet publish a measured route comparison. That requires repeatable records with the map version, sample count, actual chests opened and elapsed time — not a “best farm” headline.
Does playing in a squad improve your odds?
Multiple reports say Pirate Shop Access is granted to the full duo, trio, or squad when one party member finds it; random-fill behavior has not been independently verified by this site. Reported If four party members open chests, the group may benefit from more total attempts. That is different from increasing the chance attached to each chest, which remains unknown.
Does Captain's Day increase the odds?
No evidence in the checked announcement links Captain's Day to an increased Pirate Shop Token drop rate Not verified. See the Captain's Day calendar for its announced dates without adding a probability claim.
